March 22, 2010
Traverse City, MI –-- Horse Sports by the Bay, Inc is pleased to announce that the prize list for Dressage by the Bay Series I and II is now available to view online. This back-to-back two show series is the lead off event to the popular and prestigious Horse Shows by the Bay Equestrian Festival, which is held annually in scenic Traverse City, Michigan, at Flintfields Horse Park. Dressage by the Bay Series I and II are set to operate from July 8 thru July 11 and are the only rated dressage shows held in Northern Michigan.
Classes being offered range from Intro thru Grand Prix. A full complement of breed classes is also scheduled to run on Sunday, July 11. New to the line-up of events are Dressage Opportunity Classes where beginning riders have a group of classes dedicated just for them at reduced pricing.
The signature event of Dressage by the Bay Series I is the $5000 FEI Musical Freestyle, which is being featured in the Grand Prix Ring on Friday, July 9, at 5 p.m. Riders and their horses will be showcased one by one as they ride to carefully choreographed music of their choice.
Flintfields Horse Park is also host site to the 2010 Great American Insurance Group/USDF Region 2 Dressage Championships, recognized by United States Equestrian Federation, Inc. and the Dressage by the Bay Fall Classic, which will be held from September 9 - 12. Horse Sports by the Bay, Inc. was chosen to produce this year's Championships based on prior experience and testimonials from past judges, technical delegates, and exhibitors.
Participants will be able to enjoy more than just a horse show as the Greater Grand Traverse/Northwest Michigan Region is home to pristine beaches, award-winning vineyards, resorts, boutique shopping, and an abundance of dining options. Flintfields Horse Park is conveniently located 3 miles east of the Grand Traverse Bay and 1/2 mile north of M-72.
Hotels and restaurants are a short distance away from a facility that has dedicated itself to making sure that the horse's safety and welfare is of utmost priority. Each competition ring boasts its own warm up and viewing area and the top-notch stabling is the same used at all of the southern winter show circuits.
Class schedules, facility layout, entry forms, directions, lodging partners, and entry rules/regulations can be found on the official Horse Shows by the Bay Equestrian Festival website at www.horseshowsbythebay.com.
