Vinceremos Therapeutic Riding Center's Horses for Heroes Program Moves into High Gear

Loxahatchee, FL --- The Vinceremos Therapeutic Riding Center (VTRC) is pleased to announce that its Horses for Heroes Program will be partnering with the Vet Center of Palm Beach. The Vet Center offers counseling services and programs for combat veterans free of charge. VTRC started the Horses for Heroes Program in 2007 as a way to provide physical therapy to veterans who have served for the United States.

The partnership began Monday, November 23, and has already proved to be very successful. Maurette Hanson is the Horses for Heroes Program Director, and she is thrilled to have the opportunity to collaborate with the trauma therapist at the Vet Center, Teresa Bennett-Pasquale, MSW, LSW.

"In creating this partnership with Teresa and the Vet Center, we can offer our veterans a well-rounded program as a free service to those men and women who served us so bravely,” stated Hanson. This program will serve combat veterans with adjustment issues and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Hanson is a NARHA certified therapeutic riding instructor with VTRC, and she is also working on her Equine Facilitated Mental Health Certification with NAHRA. The VTRC would not be able to continue its unique work with these wonderful programs with out the generous support of donors and volunteers.

The VTRC is a nonprofit organization based in Loxahatchee, FL, that provides recreational and therapeutic riding instruction to people of all ages with varying developmental, physical, and psychological disabilities. The organization, founded in 1982, assists more than 350 adults and children every year, helping them gain a sense of accomplishment, greater independence, and a higher quality of life. The VTRC has received a "Premier Accreditation" rating from the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA).
