Important Information for Equine Canada Competitions with International Officials

Ottawa, Ontario --- Equine Canada is pleased to inform all Equine Canada competitions that any official travelling to Canada to officiate an equestrian event at any level (local, provincial, national and international) of sport competition does not require a work permit to work at Canadian competitions.

Please reference the following sections of the Citizenship and Immigration Canada document Foreign Worker Manual: 5.9. Work without a work permit R186(h)—Athletes and coaches, 5.14. Work without a work permit R186(m)—Judges and referees and 5.15. Work without a work permit R186(n)—Examiners and evaluators. Information for officials who are Canadian and landed-immigrants who reside in Canada and officiate in the United States will be available soon on the Equine Canada website at www.equinecanada.ca.
