2008 Equine Canada Breeds & Industry Division Delegate Assembly

Ottawa, ON --- In conjunction with Equine Canada’s Annual Convention, the Breeds & Industry Division 2008 Delegate Assembly will be held Saturday, February 9, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m., and Sunday, February 10, 12:00–4:00 p.m., at the Westin Hotel in Calgary, AB. Equine Canada’s AGM will be held Sunday morning.
The two-day Breeds & Industry Division Delegate Assembly is an open meeting for everyone to discuss issues affecting the entire equine industry and includes Breeds & Industry Council elections. Break-out sessions will add to the line-up of speakers presenting a multitude of topics including
• Revising the Codes of Practice for Horses and the role of the National Farm Animal Care Council (NFACC),
• Government of Canada’s National Animal Health Strategy,
• Export Market Development,
• Health, Welfare and Transportation Alerts,
• Equine ID and the UELN – From Trotters to Jumpers, Connecting Sport and Breeding, and
• Equine Canada Breeders Initiative Fund.
The Breeds & Industry Division provides a structure for the more than 40 breed organizations operating in Canada to unite as a national coalition under Equine Canada. It provides a forum for the equine industry to participate in policy development and exchange information between Equine Canada, Canadian stakeholders, the Government of Canada and foreign entities.

Each attending delegate is required to pay $30
