Equestrian Performers Gear Up to Perform at the EQUUS Equestrian Idol

Westport, CT --- The competition is guaranteed to be stiff at the EQUUS Equestrian Idol Musical Talent Show on Saturday, February 9, 2008, on the showgrounds of the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Florida.
Equestrians gearing up to perform include returning performers Heather Caristo, Patricia Griffith, Brian Lookabill, and Ki-Juan Minors. Also vying for the title will be first-time performers Mary Charette, Casey Hodges and Chad Watridge. The equestrian celebrity lineup includes Robert “Ryan Seacrest” Dover, who will Emcee the event and judges, Mason “Simon Cowell” Phelps, Susie “Paula Abdul” Schoellkopf, and Mark “Randy Jackson” Leone.
Taylor Blauweiss, winner of the 2007 Equestrian Idol honors, will open the fun-filled evening to raise funds for The EQUUS Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public charity established to raise public awareness of the valuable role horses play in society. EQUUS accomplishes its mission through education and the award of grants to charities that promote the positive use of the horse for the benefit of the general public, improve the quality of life of horses, contribute to the welfare of the participants in the equestrian sport, and elevate the equestrian sport and profession as a whole.
In order to raise funds, The EQUUS Foundation is seeking individuals and businesses throughout the equestrian and Palm Beach communities to assist with their gracious generosity. Donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. Tables of six are available as follows: Gold: $5,000, Silver: $3,500 and Bronze: $2,500. Individual seats are $250 per person.
